Here are all the kinds of TV and film media I have looked at which I believe can help me write a good story script and also give me inspiration on visual effects i could have such as a film grain effect which plays faintly in the foregorund on every screen which adds the the 90's theme i am going for.

Clerks is a film created by Kevin Smith which was his first film he created back in 1995. Due to the budget costs the movie and how expensive it was to produce a movie in colour, the film is in black and white and shot on a cheaper millimetre film (very grainy video). The movie is set by row of stores in New Jersey which a two store clerks are focused on for the duration of the film. One of the clerks is called Dante who at the very beginning of the movie is told he has to come in on his day off to look after the Quick Stop store as a co-worker is ill and the boss would apparently show up in the evening (He never did).  The Randel is the other clerk who works at the video store next door who never stays at his own store for it to be open.

I am also looking at this film becasue it is rated  18+ and how the script of the movie uses the language, sexual scenes and the overall structure of the movie is very adult focused and is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. Even I found it too much at times to watch without feeling slighty uncomfortable especially when you watch the other Kevin Smith movies after this one which tones down the language and adult themes down.

I want to keep my age rating at a PEGI  16+ at least or make the script alot more cleaner compared to Clerks.

I would like to have swearing as certain characters will use it more oftern or alot more than other characters (Like Jay who says it the most in almost every sentence in the film.) I would have none or little sexual themes in my game and probibly go with a uninendo here and there which I foudn out is alright for a Pegi 16 game.

I also want to look at this film for its setting and the designs of an coveniance store interior for my own store(s) in my game. I like how grungy and worn the front of the stores look which I would like to apply to each of my buildings in my game.

Lastly the film grain effects from the movie is something i would like to have as a overlay for each of the playable parts of my game. I feel it would give my game a "indie" and an "older film feel" to it. Though I need to do further research into how to create the effect and have it animate within Construct 3.

I looked at the characters from this movie for their dialog, look/ style and if they are characters I could base a few of my own characters off of for my game.

The first person is Randell Graves which in the film is the guy that doesnt care about what he says or does. He is not afraid to offend his  friends or customers what he thinks. I would have Lisa from my game to have these kind of traits but possibly tone it down so she is not as cocky as Randell from Clerks.

Another character I looked at was would be Veronica Loughran who is Dante's girlfriend. In the film she helps dante out when he is attacked by a group of customers and even brings him homemade lasagna.

She is caring but will stand her ground and talk sense into Dante when hes being stupid, which i would like Monica to be like this at the end of my game from beggining as a caring but vonerable 20 year old into a caring but confident character at the end.

Here is me analysing a image from the clerks film and pciking out details i think i should focus on adding to my buildings for my game. the ones in this shot are perfect as there is alot of worn, cracked and grimy walls. the windows look old and drity and the ground looks weathered and more beaten up than the walls. this is what i want my buildings to look like in my game as the style is worn and grungy just like the clerks film looks in terms of visuals.
